All Chester County veterans are invited to attend the annual free breakfast, hosted by the county Recorder of Deeds Office and sponsored by First Resource Bank.

The event takes place on Thursday, March 19, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the county’s Public Safety Training Campus.

“We are hosting this breakfast to give thanks for the service and sacrifice of the more than 26,000 veterans residing in Chester County whose service ranges from World War II to today’s conflicts around the world,” said county Recorder of Deeds Chris Pielli. “I encourage our local veterans to join us at the county’s state of the art training facility in South Coatesville to learn about the services and support our county offers, including our Veterans ID and Discount program.”

The breakfast is free to all county veterans and features special guest speaker U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, D-6th, of Easttown, an Air Force veteran, member of the House Armed Services Committee, and founder of the Servicewomen and Women Veterans Congressional Caucus. Also included will be veterans affairs updates from state Rep. Dan Williams, D-74th, of Coatesville; and county commissioners Marian Moskowitz, Josh Maxwell and Michelle Kichline; and county Veterans Affairs Director Susan Price.

“Chester County has many veterans initiatives that are offered by veterans and other related organizations across a wide geographical area,” said Price. “This breakfast brings together many veterans groups and individuals to continue a collaborative county-wide conversation about services for veterans; to explore ways in which we can learn from each other and to share ideas that successfully support our veterans.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation of new men’s and women’s underclothing, socks and t-shirts to benefit homeless and hospitalized veterans at the Coatesville VA Medical Center.

Any veteran who brings his or her DD-214 discharge papers to the breakfast will also be eligible to receive a Veteran ID discount card from the Recorder’s Office. The discount program offers savings at more than 100 business locations throughout the county.

The training campus is located at 137 Modena Road, South Coatesville. To register to attend the breakfast, veterans should email veteransID@chesco.org or call the Recorder of Deeds office at 610-3446780.
