TriCounty Active Adult Center announced Wednesday afternoon it will close as a precaution.

POTTSTOWN » The TriCounty Active Adult Center announced Wednesday afternoon it will close Thursday and Friday as a precaution over concerns about coronaviru­s.

The center at 288 Moser Road is closed for all exercise, recreation­al and social activities March 12 and March 13. Friday’s Funny Fundraiser has been postponed.

“Due to the severity of this disease in older adults, we will continue to act cautiously moving forward,” the center announced. “We are in communicat­ion with the health department, and will be monitoring the situation so we can continue to act in the best interests of the older adults we serve.”

The situation around Novel Coronaviru­s (COVID-19) changes almost daily and the center continues to take proactive steps to be prepared for any possible outbreak and to keep our employees, volunteers and guests informed, healthy and safe, center officials announced.

Income tax preparatio­n appointmen­ts will continue as scheduled.

If you need food assistance, you can call the center at 610 323-5009, ext. 102 to request a take-out meal. Take-out meals will be available beginning Friday, March 13.

Due to the uncertaint­y of the impact of the COVID-19 virus at this time, the center decided to postpone this Friday’s Funny Fundraiser. The event has been reschedule­d for Friday, June 12.

Ticket holders may choose from the following options: A full refund; Exchange ticket for the June 12 show; Exchange ticket for the Sept. 13 show.

All ticket purchasers will be contacted by the center.
