Tompkins Vist Bank has options for loan customers
WYOMISSING » Tompkins Vist Bank has rolled out a program to assist current consumer customers facing unexpected financial burdens due to the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. That Thursday announcement was followed by an announcement about a program to assist commercial customers, announced by Tompkins Financial Corp., parent company of Tompkins Vist Bank.
The first program, offered to Tompkins Vist Bank customers, is a Loan Assistance Program that provides a two-month loan payment deferment for various loan types, including consumer and commercial loans and mortgages.
“Our commitment to our customers and community continues to be the driving force for all we do,” Scott Gruber, president and CEO, said in a press release. “As a community bank, it is our duty to assist our customers when facing unexpected hardship.”
The second program specifically addresses the needs of eligible commercial customers facing financial difficulties due to the spread of the virus. Tompkins Financial’s loan assistance program also provides up to 60 days of deferrment for all commercial loans.
“We understand that companies, including our small business customers, are the backbone of the US economy and that they need our support during this critical time more than ever,” Stephen Romaine, president and CEO, said in a press release. “As a community bank, it is our duty to assist businesses in the best way we can, which includes taking a market-leading position on loan deferment that we hope will inspire others to do the same during this time of unexpected hardship.”
The announcement of the loan assistance program for commercial customers puts Tompkins affiliate banks among the first in Pennsylvania and New York to implement programs targeting financial effects of coronavirus on businesses, according to the company.
Additional specific details about the program were not available. Consumer and commercial loan customers experiencing challenges with loan repayment should contact their banker to review options that may be available to them.
