Philly area Domino’s adding 700 jobs
PHILADELPHIA » As businesses in some industries close or reduce operations, others find themselves in need of more employees as the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread.
The latest company announcing the need to hire is Domino’s — which said on Monday that its franchise-owned locations in the Philadelphia region are looking to hire 700 team members.
The positions — both full- and part-time — include delivery drivers, customer service representatives, assistant managers and managers, and are needed to ensure service levels remain strong, the company said.
“Domino’s works hard to serve local communities across the country and Philadelphia is no different,” Salim Joarder, a Domino’s franchise owner in the Philadelphia area, said in a press release Monday. “Stores across this area are continuing to provide pizza to those who are looking for a delicious, hot meal, and at times like this, staffing is critical.”
Domino’s customers have two options when it comes to getting their meals from the company — a contactless delivery option, as well as an option to pick-up at the store locations.
Customers can indicate they would like a contactless delivery by completing the “delivery instructions” at check out to let the store know they would prefer a contactless delivery, and where to leave the delivery.
When the delivery driver arrives at the customer’s location, the customer will be notified the pizza has been delivered. The delivery person will then move to a safe distance and wait for the customer.
A request to speak with a local franchise owners was turned down by the company, because they are “100% focused on operating their stores and providing great customer service during this unique time,” and emailed response stated.
