Area couple ties the knot outside courtroom
Outside the District Court Tuesday, there was love, a wedding ceremony and some people wearing masks.
William Foti and Danielle Camaroto became a married couple in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic as friends, family and some members of the West Whiteland Police Department looked on outside Magisterial District Judge John Bailey’s court.
Under a bright blue sky and with a cool breeze blowing, the ceremony was a testament as to how life carries on with hope and affection even in the darkest of times.
“Receiving this ring is a pledge and token of my wedded love and fidelity,” the couple repeated on instructions from Bailey, who wore a protective mask for the event, as part of their vows, just prior to him pronouncing them as husband and wife and granting Foti the pleasure of kissing the bride.
“This is pretty cool,” Camaroto said after the brief civil ceremony. “This is something we will remember forever.” They were escorted from the court by patrol cars from the township police with their lights flashing in honor of their wedding day.
The couple met more than three years ago through mutual acquaintances and have four children together, the last, daughter Layne, being born a year ago.
“We just decided that now was the time,” to exchange vows, said Foti, wearing a striped yellow bow tie and yellow boutonnière. “I didn’t think we’d be able to do it, but the judge said OK.”
“It’s pretty awesome,” said Camaroto, clad in a simple white dress and smiling.
