Zion’s UCC

Pottstown — Rev. Austin Chinault, Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut Streets continues his series of “Are You Ready For This?” Part 3 for his YouTube Sunday Service. The Scriptures focus on Commitment to God — complete and total. God is our being and giver of life and cannot be resisted. June 21 is Father’s Day and for Zion’s Heifer International Sunday as well. All these three areas have elements of commitment. service and dedication. Our dads and grandfathers are people we loved and enjoyed. We could count on them to play games, tell us stories and share lots of family memories. They knew our favorite treats and helped us with problems. We could count on them for a hug when we needed one. They taught us important lessons of life. In 2019 Heifer International celebrated 75 years of helping others worldwide. Heifer teaches people how to use environmentally-friendly farming methods, how to create and operate businesses and support their communities with their new knowledge including both men and women. Covid-19 upended the lives of all including those in 21 countries where Heifer has projects. The commitment of farmers in Ecuador improved methods to fulfill the needs for more than 17 million Ecuadorians under quarantine. With financial support Heifer can purchase area appropriate animals-geese, goats sheep as well as Irrigation Pumps, Tanzanian School Milk or Send a Girl to School! Heifer teaches families how to be independent farmers sharing first-born animals with neighbors. Contact Heifer.org.
