UWCHLAN » Sherwood Robbins, managing director for Seedcopa + SeedcoDE has been named director of Region 3 for the National Association of Development Companies (NADCO). The organization is the trade association for SBA Certified Development Companies and other lenders across the nation that deliver the SBA 504 loan program to small businesses.
As Region 3 director, Robbins will represent certified development companies across Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. In his position, Robbins looks to help shape industry rules and regulations, according to a press release. He was elected by members of the National Association of Development Companies in an electronic vote.
“We are pleased to welcome Sherwood Robbins to the board,” Rhonda Pointon, president & CEO of the National Association of Development Companies, said in the release. “With decades in the banking and finance industry, including as managing director of a certified development company, Sherwood’s vast experience is highly valued. I look forward to working with him, with the knowledge that his contributions will be vital to our members and the CDC family.”
Seedcopa + SeedcoDE is a multi-state certified development company, serving all of Pennsylvania and Delaware — supporting small businesses with government backed loans for more than 37 years with the Chester County Economic Development Council.
Robbins joined the organization in 2007, and as managing director he has completed its multi-state expansion, added further federal, state and local loan programs to its offerings and continued to act as a local Lender Service Provider (LSP) to a number of regional bank partners.
“This is a critical time
in the evolution of industry rules and regulations, and I am looking forward to representing the perspectives of CDCs, lenders and small business borrowers across the region as these changes develop and unfold,” Robbins said in the release.
“Sherwood has led our Seedcopa team for over 10 years, and we have long valued his SBA and lending expertise,” Gary Smith, Chester County Economic Development Council
president and CEO, added in the release. “We are thrilled that NADCO has recognized these same qualities and elected Sherwood to their board. We are proud of Sherwood and know he’ll represent our region well.”

served as a dedicated government loan lender. He has been involved with the National Association of Development Companies for more than 10 years, including as a frequent conference panelist.
