Community Health & Dental adds 4th location
New Berks office to open in September
NORTH COVENTRY » Community Health and Dental Care has announced that it is expanding, and will open a new location in Washington Township, Berks County. Plans call for a September 2020 opening for the new location at 1315 Route 100 North. It will be the health care provider’s fourth location.
Community Health and Dental Care is leasing the space, which is being partially funded from a Pennsylvania Department of Health grant received this year.
According to Jennifer O’Donnell, marketing and promotions officer, the Berks County location is being added to “meet the demands of our community and to offer CHDC’s quality services and programs to existing and new patients in this service area.”
Work is already underway to renovate the space, according to O’Donnell. When the work is completed, the location will feature 3,854-square feet of space, renovated to include state of the art equipment to provide medical and integrated behavioral health services for all ages. Future plans include the addition of two dental chairs and a medication dispensary for patients.
“CHDC is currently providing telehealth visits in Pottstown and will begin telehealth visits in Barto in August,” she said, adding that scheduling for the new office will be open later in July for patients to begin booking telehealth appointments.
Current medical providers will be used to staff the new location, according to O’Donnell.
“We will be hiring a new nurse care manager and support staff as needed,” she added.
Community Health and Dental Care provides medical, dental, OBGYN, vision, podiatry, physical therapy, medication assistance therapy (MAT), integrated behavioral health, care and case management and free transportation to and from all of its locations, including: 351 W. Schuylkill Road in North Coventry, which provides medical, dental, vision, podiatry, integrated behavioral health and physical therapy; 700 Heritage Drive in Lower Pottsgrove, which provides OBGYN, MAT, integrated behavioral health and medical services; and 802 Heritage Drive in Lower Pottsgrove, which provides dental care.
In August 2018, the health care provider opened a state of the art facility in the Coventry Mall, in what was the former Ross Dress For Less department store, signing a 10-year lease for the space with the mall. That location serves as the headquarters for the organization.
Since 2008, Community Health & Dental Care has provided access to appropriate levels of care for all people in the service area regardless of their ability to pay, and accepts most major commercial, Medicare and Medicare supplement plans, Fee for Service Medicaid and Managed Care Medicaid plans and provides a health care discount for eligible uninsured and underinsured patients.
