PHOENIXVIL­LE » Get revved up to take your driver’s test at the Chester County Intermedia­te Unit’s (CCIU) newest Driver Testing Center located in Phoenixvil­le.

Certified by PennDOT as an approved thirdparty testing center, the CCIU offers three onthe-road driver examinatio­n locations in Chester County: one at the Technical College High School (TCHS) Pennock’s Bridge Campus (280 Pennock’s Bridge Road, West Grove, PA 19390), one at the CCIU (455 Boot Road, Downingtow­n, PA 19335) and a brand-new location at the TCHS Pickering Campus (1580 Charlestow­n Road, Phoenixvil­le, PA 19460).

All examiners are trained by the state of Pennsylvan­ia to administer the driver’s test.

“We are very excited for the opportunit­y to offer our community members a third driver testing location here in Chester County,” said Debra MacCauslan­d, office manager of the CCIU’s Driver Testing Centers. “The new location will provide the CCIU’s high standards of customer service, as well as offer little to no wait time for those wishing to receive their driver’s license.”

The Phoenixvil­le Driver Testing Center is open on Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is now accepting appointmen­ts. To schedule your driver’s test, you must request an appointmen­t at www. cciu.org/driverstes­t.

The fees for the driver’s testing exam are as follows: standard rate - $100; discounted rate (for drivers completing the CCIU’s Driver Education Online course and Behind-the-Wheel Training) - $75; retest rate (at our facility only) - $60.

The Driver Education Online course was developed by the CCIU and consists of online instructio­n taught by a state-certified teacher. Students are instructed about proper vehicle handling techniques, the consequenc­es of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, PA laws, handling car emergencie­s and more. Behindthe-Wheel training consists of six hours of actual driving experience on the road with an instructor. Learn more at w w w.cciu.org/drivered.
