Backpack challenge surpasses its goal

An area Realtor passed its goal during the 15th annual “Ready for Learning” backpack challenge.

DEVON » Berkshire Hathaway HomeServic­es (BHHS) Fox & Roach, Realtors and the Trident Group surpassed its goal during the 15th annual “Ready for Learning” backpack challenge. The effort was held virtually this year due to the coronaviru­s pandemic.

“We far-surpassed our $100,000 goal for this year thanks to the incredible generosity and teamwork of our agents, employees, executives and communitie­s,” Kassie Erb, president, Fox & Roach/Trident Charities, said in a press release.

A total of $114,213 was donated, providing 5,711 filled backpacks for underserve­d children in the communitie­s served by Fox & Roach/Trident Charities throughout Pennsylvan­ia, Delaware and New Jersey.

Filled backpacks were delivered to children in need in participat­ion with local partners including Cradles to Crayons in Philadelph­ia; HomeFront in Central New Jersey, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coastal and Northern New Jersey and Community Bike Works in the Lehigh Valley.

Since 2006, Fox & Roach/Trident Charities has collected more than 46,500 backpacks and supplies for homeless and foster care children in the tri-state area.

“The need nowis greater than ever, our annual backpackdr­ive is an important andgratify­ingproject for our company and communitie­s we serve,” Larry FlickV, CEOof BHHSFox& Roach, Realtors and the Trident Group, said in the release.
