Concetta Marie (Ioppolo) Hunt
Concetta Marie (Ioppolo) Hunt, 81, passed away Monday, December 7th, 2020 in Pottstown Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late, Walter Giles Hunt, Jr. The couple married January 27, 1961 and shared 56 years of marriage. Sadly, Walter passed away February 6, 2018.
Born in Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia on November 19, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Isabel (Vano) Ioppolo. She was raised in Upper Darby, PA. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania where she earned her Nursing and she later earned her Master’s Degree in Psychology and Counseling Degree at Alvernia University.
Concetta has been a Registered Nurse for over 40 years. Over the course of her extensive professional career in healthcare she worked as Director of Nursing for Eagleville Behavioral Health Hospital, Bowling Green Hospital & Treatment Center and Pottstown Hospital Behavioral Health Unit. She retired from Pottstown Hospital as Director of Nursing and after retirement remained as clinical leader in various volunteer committees.
Concetta was a dedicated and active member of St. Thomas More Church in Pottstown. She treasured church and its parishioners as it was a very special part of her life. She volunteered her services at Manatawny manor as a Eucharistic Minister as well as other community locations.
She enjoyed cooking, baseball and especially the Philadelphia Phillies. During Concetta’s life she took pride in raising her cherished, very special children and was known for was doting, adoring and treasuring her loving grandchildren.
Concetta is survived by two sons W. Jeffrey (Sara), Michael (Denise) and one daughter Michelle (Brad) Davidson. Her eight precious grandchildren; Vincent, Samantha, Bailey, Max, Dylan, Hunter, Carson and Carter. One brother Albert Ioppolo.
Along with her husband she is predeceased by Albert’s wife, Carmella.
A private funeral Mass, due to COVID, will be held for Concetta.
