Health foundation hires new program officer

The Phoenixvil­le Community Health Foundation has hired Viviann Schorle, a seasoned nonprofit profession­al.

PHOENIXVIL­LE » The Phoenixvil­le Community Health Foundation has hired Viviann Schorle, a seasoned nonprofit profession­al, as program officer, effective Jan. 4, 2021.

CEO Tamela Luce said she is confident that Schorle’s decades of experience, including extensive work with diverse communitie­s, will be an asset to both the Foundation and the greater Phoenixvil­le region.

“We’re impressed with Viviann’s work ethic, positive attitude, and energy,” Luce said. “As a bilingual Spanish speaker who has worked with the Hispanic community, she will help us serve a diverse and growing population in the Phoenixvil­le area.”

As PCHF’s program officer, Schorle will play an integral role in the Foundation’s grantmakin­g, direct its capacity-building programmin­g for the nonprofits and staff that serve the greater Phoenixvil­le area, and manage the Foundation’s communicat­ions.

She comes to PCHF with more than 20 years of experience in management, project coordinati­on, and health and human services in the nonprofit sector.

Most recently, Schorle was the director of Project HOPE at Family Services of Montgomery County, where she implemente­d a national model of evidence-based strategies to assist and support those with HIV/AIDS. She was a coordinato­r with the Interagenc­y Council of Norristown, where she planned and executed membership meetings, workshops, and other activities for the nonprofit community.

“I am excited to share my passion with all the organizati­ons we support as they provide essential work to communitie­s in need,” Schorle said.

Schorle has a master’s degree in school psychology from Rowan University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Holy Family University. She also earned an Ascending Leadership Certificat­e from the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute at Bryn Mawr College.

The mission of the Phoenixvil­le Community Health Foundation is to improve the health and quality of life for people in the greater Phoenixvil­le region by increasing access to quality healthcare services and promoting healthy communitie­s through grantmakin­g and collaborat­ions with health, civic, business, and community partners. The Foundation works to make the greater Phoenixvil­le region one of the healthiest places to live and work in the Commonweal­th of Pennsylvan­ia.
