-

Rayford E. Boulden known as Ray to all of his family and loyal friends passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the age 83, Ray was born in Perkiomenville, PA on November 15, 1937 to the late Alverda M. (Wolfe) and Samuel N. Boulden.

After graduating from Upper Perk High School, Rayford joined the National Guard. Later, as a young man, he opened his own bicycle shop in Boyertown, PA. However, he was really known for being the proud owner of Ray’s Lawn Mower Shop right on Rte 73 in Boyertown. Ray repaired lawn mowers, sold farm equipment, new and used lawn mowers and hard-to-find parts for the do-it-yourself customers locally and all around the U.S. and Canada for almost 40 years before retiring. He was even interviewed for an article in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Ray was a lifetime member of Liederkranz, a German club in Reading, PA. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. When he wasn’t working on a project, Ray was most likely looking for tools and equipment to buy and sell in his shop. He was a true business man.

Ray is survived by his wife, Dorle (Reinhardt) Boulden who he married in 1963; his daughters, Ute (Boulden) Scott, mate of John Dzuryachko, and Rita (Boulden) Tabacek, wife of Eric and grandchildren, Tatiana and Trevor Tabacek; sister, Betty (Boulden) Peiffer.

Rayford was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Judy (Boulden) Shorter.

A visitation for Rayford will be held Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home Inc., 111 N Reading Ave, Boyertown, PA 19512, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.LWOttFuneralHome.com for the Boulden family.

Most of all, Rayford was a caring husband, father and loyal friend. He loved his home and his family very much.
