Carole L. (McCord) Levengood

Carole L. (McCord) Levengood, 76, wife of the late Wallace L. Levengood Jr., passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at her home in Pottstown surrounded by family.

Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Jean (Culp) McCord.

She graduated in 1962 from Pottstown Senior High. Carole was employed by the Boyertown Area School District for 39 years, retiring in June of 2011.

She was a member of the Boyertown Senior Center and a lifetime member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Pottstown.

Carole enjoyed playing games with her grandsons, especially Parcheesi. She loved reading, going out to dinner with her many friends, trips to the beach and to the mountains. Carole loved to travel, her suitcase always half packed waiting in her closet.

Carole was a kind-hearted and loving friend, and she will be missed by many, especially her best friend and fellow adventurer, Marsha Paczok.

We are blessed to have known someone who is so hard to say goodbye to.

Carole is survived by her daughter Bonnie Stutzman; daughter-in-law Tammy Levengood; grandsons Andrew Stutzman and Ryan Stutzman; beloved cousins with whom she shared many wonderful memories; Judith Criblear, Tom Kohler, Jim Kohler and Ruth McCord-Blanas. She is survived by many nieces and nephews but had a special bond with nieces Holly Segnere and Brenda Shaffer. She is predeceased by her son Todd W. Levengood and her longtime companion Tom Hollifield.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM at New Hanover Lutheran Church Cemetery (2941 Lutheran Rd, Gilbertsville, PA 19525), with Pastor Joseph Dietz officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA (1059 Sweisford Rd, Perkiomenville, PA 18074) in Carole’s name.
