June Ann (Atkinson) Hartung, 77, of Boyertown, widow of Frank S. Hartung, passed away on Saturday February 20, 2021 at Chestnut Knoll Assisted Living, Boyertown.

Born in Riverside, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Charles Atkinson and the late Marion (Bauer) Atkinson.

June was a graduate of Millville High School, and attended Patterson State University for early childhood education. Through her school years she was involved in the Brownies, Girl Scouts, Mariners. She got to do a lot of traveling with the Mariners group.

She was a member of Shenkel United Church of Christ, Pottstown.

June was a stay at home mom, involved in PTO, book clubs, team mom, and she also crochet hundreds of prayer shawls and baby blankets that she gave away. She also loved hiking, her grandchild­ren, family and friends.

She is survived by a son, Keith Steven Hartung, Reston, VA; a daughter, Sherry wife of Seth Flaxenburg, Birdsboro; two sisters, Marilyn wife of Tony McClain, Mason, OH, Barbara wife of Robert Lykens, Waycross, GA; and two grandchild­ren, Lauren and Evan.

Services will be private. Contributi­ons may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n go to www.alz.org/pa to make a donation.

The family would like to thank everyone at Chestnut Knoll Assisted Living for their kindness and care of June.
