Hearing set for 112bed senior facility
LIMERICK >> A proposal to build a 112-bed assisted living facility off North Lewis Road will get a hearing before the township supervisors on March 16.
The address for the project is 545 N. Lewis Road, which a legal notice in The Mercury indicates is 8.59 acres located south of the intersection with Route 422 between Linfield Road and Benner Road.
Proposed by Senior Housing Development LLC, the project complies with the retail business zoning for the site, which requires it first to obtain conditional use approval from the board of supervisors.
That’s what the 7 p.m. March 16 hearing, according to Township Manager Dan Kerr. The hearing will be held at the township building on Ridge Pike.
Kerr said the township planning commission has recommended the project receive the conditional use permit from the supervisors.
If that occurs on March 16, the development will go back to the planning commission for a full site plan review which must ultimately be approved by the commissioners before construction can begin.
The project calls for a two-story assisted living and memory-care facility with a 30,000-square-foot footprint with 67 parking spaces, according to the legal notice.
If built, it will be the second senior facility built in Limerick built within the last several years.
Last year, construction began on the Arcadia retirement care facility, a $50.1 million, 30-acre, 450-unit project that includes senior apartments, as well as an assisted living and memory care units.
That is the project which aligned Swamp Pike with North Lewis Road and installed a traffic rotary.
