Driver stopped in drive-thru charged with DUI
Exeter Township police arrested a Philadelphia man on a charge of driving under the influence of marijuana after stopping his car in a restaurant drive-thru lane.
Rakeim D. Savage, 22, also was charged with possessing marijuana after police found a package of medical marijuana in the car Jan. 23. Three others in the car also were charged.

About 4 p.m., an officer leaving Exeter Commons shopping center in the 4500 block of Perkiomen Avenue noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from a car with four male occupants.
The car made an abrupt turn into a restaurant’s drive-thru lane and went through without placing an order.
The officer stopped the car in the drivethru and saw both rear occupants trying to hide what the officer recognized as marijuana patches typically sold at a licensed marijuana dispensary.
He requested assistance from other officers.
The investigating officer spoke with Savage, who didn’t have any form of identification.
The officer recognized all the occupants appeared to be under the influence of marijuana.
All the occupants admitted smoking marijuana in the vehicle, and none had a state-issued medical marijuana card.
The other occupants were identified as Damire J. Clayton II, Kyair Garnett and Dashon Smith, all of Philadelphia. All were sent summonses.
Police found an empty package of medical marijuana in the center console of the rear passenger seat.
