Virginia “Ginny” “Pete” (Freeman) Drabinsky, 83, of Boyertown, Pennsylvan­ia passed away on Sunday March 14, 2021.

Born in New Orleans, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Julia (Ford) Freeman. Ginny was raised in Foxworth, Mississipp­i by the late James and Mary Ford, and graduated from Columbia High School.

Ginny moved to Washington, D.C. when she was 18 to work as a civil secretary for the Navy. She met her husband Robert “Bob” in D.C., and and a few years later moved to Boyertown. Ginny was very active in the church, and was a founding member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in New Berlinvill­e, PA. In the early 1980s, she worked in the cafeteria at Boyertown Elementary School. In 1983 Ginny joined the staff at St. Andrew UMC as an administra­tive assistant where she retired from in 2010. Ginny was involved in the Pottstown chapter of T.O.P.S. and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Liberty Fire Company in New Berlinvill­e.

Ginny was predecease­d by her beloved husband of 56 years, Bob. She is survived by her four children son Mark of Boyertown, PA; her son Robert P. and wife Elizabeth of Lobachsvil­le, PA; her daughter Jennifer and her husband Michael Wilde of Newark, Delaware; her son Todd and wife Daniela of Fleetwood, PA; her step grandchild­ren Christian and Chantalle; her sister-in-law Ann Drabinsky of Pottstown, PA; and many nieces and nephews. Ginny was preceded in death by four brothers Wilmon Shane (Margarette) Freeman, T.J. (Louise) Freeman, T.M. Freeman, Billy Ray (Janice) Freeman; two sisters, Grace (Clifford) Martin and Lorena Wascom.

All services will be private. A public memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Virginia Drabinsky Memorial Fund at St. Andrew UM Church, 611 Swamp Creek Road; Bechtelsvi­lle, PA 19505.
