Harry Charles Troutman
Harry Charles Troutman, husband of the late Gloria Jean (Wright) Troutman, died peacefully, on March 14, 2021. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was a wonderful provider, protector, and source of wisdom to his family.
He was born on May 25, 1926, in Upper Providence Twp., to the late Harry Landes Troutman and Elsie Kulp (Bechtel) Troutman. After graduating from Collegeville-Trappe High School in 1944, he served as US Navy aviation radio operator and gunner, flying off the carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Harry was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Oaks and Spring-Ford Masonic Lodge #553. He was an avid genealogist who traced his ancestors to Germany and Switzerland. After retiring from the BF Goodrich Co. Oaks, he and Gloria traveled to all US states, all Canadian provinces, several countries in Europe and South America, and attended USS Franklin D. Roosevelt reunions.
Harry is survived by his children Myree Troutman and partner James Dilks, Sheree Troutman, and Bret, husband of Elizabeth (Schneider) Troutman; his grandchildren Nathan App, Jessica (Kulp) Dries, Katelyn Troutman, wife of Daniel Ramirez, and Allison Troutman; and his great-grandchildren Brynn, Devyn, Ethan, Owen, and Mason Dries. In addition to his wife of 66 years, he was preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses, Eleanor and Howard Schultze, William and Shirley Troutman, and Jane and Charles Wismer.
Funeral services are private, with burial in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick Twp. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Arrangements are by Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe.
