Hayes swings big bat for Daniel Boone

DANIEL BOONE 8, BRANDYWINE HEIGHTS 2 >> Dani Hayes swung the biggest bat for the Blazers Tuesday, leading them to victory over the Bullets in Berks League action.
Hayes drove in four runs with a homer and double. Amber Williams chipped in with a 3-for-4 bat featuring a double and RBI, and Kristen DiNolfi added a triple and RBI.
Hayes picked up the pitching decision off 6-1/3 innings of five-hit, one-run, four-strikeout mound work. Julia Maggs closed out the game on the hill for Boone.

LANSDALE CATHOLIC 11, PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 6 >> Cesar Lopez was the bright spot for the Panthers as they fell to the Crusaders in non-league play Tuesday.
Lopez had Perkiomen’s big blow, a three-run homer in the sixth inning. He also hit a run-scoring double, accounting for two of his team’s five hits while it fell into a 9-2 hole after three at-bats.
Only true Perk highlight was freshman Cesar Lopez with a run scoring double and a three-run homer.
Boys tennis
POPE JOHN PAUL II 6, UPPER MERION 1 >>
The Golden Panthers scored straight-set victories in five matches — along with a sweep of the singles bracket — as they rolled over the Vikings in Tuesday’s Pioneer Athletic Conference contest.
J.T. Collins had PJP’s best individual showing, a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Somil Tare at second singles, while A.J. Mares added a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles. UM’s lone point came from its thirddoubles team of Andrew Egan and Aditya Mogul.
Boys volleyball
DANIEL BOONE 3, SCHUYLKILL VALLEY 1 >> The Blazers rallied from an opening-set loss to run the table the rest of the way in Tuesday’s Berks League victory over the Panthers. Set scores were 17-25, 25-20, 2521 and 25-20).
Jack Hummel had 11 kills, two blocks and one ace for Boone (1-1), while Coltan Strable had eight kills and Ian Wright 24 assists. For SV,
Zach Heffner had 11 kills, 15 digs and three aces; and Caleb Miller had four kills, five aces and 10 digs.
