Big 4th helps OJR top Warriors

OWEN J. ROBERTS 8, METHACTON 5 » The Wildcats dug themselves out of an early hole with a fiverun fourth inning on the way to Tuesday’s PAC Liberty win over the Warriors.

Dean Mihos went 2-for-4 (double) with two runs scored and pitched a perfect seventh inning to pick up the save. Ethan Sabatino (2 RBI) and Aaron Kirby (double) also had two-hit days.

After OJR fell behind 4-1 in the second, Alex Lobello picked up the win on the mound, allowing one earned run in four innings of relief. Graham Halfpenny went six innings for Methacton, striking out six, but was hurt by four Warriors errors compared to none for the Wildcats. PHOENIXVIL­LE 4, POPE JOHN PAUL II 1 » Jason Bilotti’s complete game carried the Phantoms to a PAC Frontier win over the Golden Panthers on Monday.

Bilotti allowed just one earned

run on six hits, striking out 11 batters compared to just one walk. Justin Geiger doubled and scored a run, and Mike Memmo scored twice and drove in another for Phoenixvil­le.

PJP pitchers Adam Yarrison, Matt Kossey and Evan Timlin held the Phantoms to just three hits as seven walks and two errors hurt the Golden Panthers. Frank Dimaio went 2-for-3 and Dom Germanowic­z doubled for PJP.

Softball

POTTSGROVE 11, UPPER MERION 0 >> Mikayla Eckman tossed five one-hit innings in the Falcons’ PAC Frontier win Tuesday against the Vikings.

Eckman gave up three base runners, allowing two walks and striking out four. Elizabeth McAllister led the Falcons at the plate with a 3-for-3 day that included a triple and four RBI. Brianna Herbert, Bailey Pysher and Avery Gleason (double) all had two-hit days for Pottsgrove.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 7, NORRISTOWN 0 >> Ava Macalis and Sam Sciarra combined for the complete game shutout in the Vikings’ PAC Liberty win over the Eagles Tuesday.

Macalis went the first four innings to collect the win, striking out six and allowing one hit. Sciarra gave up one knock and struck out four in the final three frames. Neither allowed a walk.

At the dish for PV, Macalis went 2-for-3 with a double and Serena Crovetti went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI. PHOENIXVIL­LE 9, POPE JOHN PAUL II 2 >> The Phantoms dug themselves out of an early hole for a PAC Frontier win over the Golden Panthers on Monday.

After PJP scored twice in the first inning, Phoenixvil­le answered with a leadoff homer from Courtney Gable in the first and a sac fly from Chloe Johns in the second to tie the game before a five-run third put the Phantoms in control.

Hayden Perrone went 3-for-4 for Phoenixvil­le, scoring three times. Johns drove in three runs. Arayana Ashlie pitched a complete game, allowing two earned runs and striking out seven.

Alex DiCampello and Dani Dare both had twohit days for PJP. SPRING-FORD 12, BOYERTOWN 1 >> The Rams got seven extra base hits and a dazzling outing from Jules Scogna in their five-inning PAC Liberty win Monday over the Bears.

Bri Peck had three of Spring-Ford’s big knocks, tallying two triples and a double, and Noelle Reid went 2-for-3 with a homer to lead the Rams’ offense. Lexi Wescott (double) also had a two-hit day.

Scogna struck out nine with four hits and no walks in her five innings, allowing just one unearned run. UPPER PERKIOMEN 16, POTTSTOWN 2 >> Five Indians had multi-hit days in Monday’s PAC Frontier win over the Trojans.

Sierra Fretz (2-for-3, HR), Jenna Sullivan (2-for-2, 2 RBI), Lynnsi Joyce (2-for-2, 2 RBI), Makenna Albright (2-for-2, 2B), and Lily Dibble (2-for-2, 2B) all tallied multiple knocks. Kaylyn Adair added a homer in her only at-bat.

Elizabeth Proctor and Erin Gray combined for the winning effort on the mount. Proctor tossed two perfect frames before Gray allowed two runs in three innings of work, striking out two.

Boys tennis

SPRING-FORD 6, UPPER MERION 1 >> The Rams took all four doubles matches in Tuesday’s win over the Vikings.

Spring-Ford’s doubles teams of Josh Pergine/ Navein Suresh, Dan Thrope/Ethan Shakour, Jacob Collier/Yash Rohera and Jacob Kolevas/Jupjowt Singh picked up doubles wins. Cameron Moore and Ryan Miller won at first and second singles respective­ly.

Somil Tare picked up the Vikings’ lone point, earning a 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 win over Colton Pollock in third singles.

OWEN J. ROBERTS 7, BOYERTOWN 0 >> The Wildcats had just one match go past two sets in Tuesday’s win over the Bears.

Jason Sawicki, Talan Nguyen and Blake Brennan picked up singles wins for OJR. The teams of Will Cano/Liam Sanders, Ethan Ladd/Jack Sawicki, Ryan Pryor/Matthew Taylor and Parry Ryan/Colin Hanna won doubles matches for the Wildcats.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 6, OWEN J. ROBERTS 1 >> A sweep of the doubles bracket put the perfect cap on the Vikings’ performanc­e in Monday’s PAC match with the Wildcats.

In a duel between semifinali­sts from the weekend’s PAC Singles Tournament, PV’s Aaron Fry rebounded from an opening-set 7-5 loss to overtake OJR’s Jason Sawicki, 6-1, 6-0. Roberts extended three of the four doubles contests to three sets.

DANIEL BOONE 3, FLEETWOOD 2 >> A sweep of the singles bracket proved enough to give the Blazers victory over the Tiger in Monday’s Berks League action.

Sam Shank had Boone’s best showing, a 6-0, 6-1 verdict at third singles. David Kim was a winner at first singles in three sets, and Evan Miller had the other point at second singles in a tiebreaker.

Girls Lacrosse

BOYERTOWN 9, PHOENIXVIL­LE 6 >> Emma Beidler’s four-goal day led the Bears to a PAC crossover over the Phantoms on Tuesday.

Alina Friz tallied two goals for Boyertown with Delaney Fox, Hailey Gruber and Cori Bieber each adding one.

Andrea Hook tallied a hat trick for the Phantoms as Gianna Thaxton, Jaime Michaud and Lucy O’Donnell rounded out Phoenixvil­le’s scoring.

Maddy Schramm made 15 saves for the Phantoms, while Elli Ferraro saved 10 shots for the Bears. UPPER PERKIOMEN 24, NORRISTOWN 1 >> The Indians rolled to a PAC crossover win over the Eagles on Tuesday.

Olivia Rogers had a hat trick for Upper Perkiomen and Mia Schneider, Abby Orsini, Bella Carpenter, Grace Vogel, Jess Traynor, Marykate Sitko and Payton Bettys each tallied a pair of goals.

Boys track

OWEN J. ROBERTS 83, BOYERTOWN 58 >> Zach Taylor was a two-event winner for the Wildcats in Monday’s PAC meet with the Bears.

Taylor had his firsts in the long and triple jump. Julian Saunders dominated the sprints for OJR, winning the 100 and 200.

Girls track

BOYERTOWN 75, OWEN J. ROBERTS 74 >> A 34-28 edge in the field was key to the Bears edging the Wildcats in Monday’s PAC meet.

Lillian Mauger was a triple-winner for Boyertown, her firsts in the long and triple jump complement­ed by another win in the 200. Renee Simmonds also had three firsts in the shot put and discus along with the 300 hurdles.
