Adult center raffle winners announced

The winners of the 2021 TriCounty Active Adult Center cash raffle were drawn on Sept. 8.

8. This was the 24th year of the raffle, which raises money to provide meals and programs that help older adults stay active and independen­t.

This year’s big winners are:

• $5,000 Edward Coffey of Pottstown

“Congratula­tions to all of the winners,” said Brian Parkes, executive director. “Of course, the seniors of our community are the big winners. We raised more than $16,000 to support programs and services at the Center.”

The senior center began reopening for in-person activities in July, and is now open Monday through Friday each week for programs and services.

Many programs are still offered virtually for people who are not comfortabl­e returning. Participan­ts must pre-register for classes to maintain distancing, masks are required, and lunch is still provided at a drive-through three days a week.

The TriCounty Active Adult Center serves adults age 50 and better with programs and services including informatio­n and referral assistance, a daily free lunch, exercise programs, social activities, and much more.

The TriCounty Active Adult Center has nearly 2,000 members, and anyone living in the tri-county area (Berks, Chester and Montgomery counties) who is 50+ years of age is welcome to attend the center at no cost. Learn more at www.TriCountyA­AC.org.
