E. Marie Bothe
E. Marie Bothe, 101, formerly of Royersford, died on Friday, September 10, at Brandywine Living at Upper Providence, Phoenixville. She was born July 10, 1920, in Hilltown, PA, the daughter of Levi and Katherine Witmer. She grew up and graduated high school in Souderton, PA.
Marie was a long-time associate of Richard W. Wetherill – author and lecturer on rational, honest, and moral behavior. Marie dedicated her adult life to taking and supporting “right action.” She didn’t believe in taking vacations from that life. In 1996, she authored the book Be Right Or Go Wrong.
In 1978, Marie became co-owner of WAI – a leading manufacturer and distributor of automotive electrical parts. She served as president and later as board member until her retirement in 2005.
In 1984, she established the Humanetics Fellowship and was president and board member until 2017.
In 1991, she was instrumental in building Atrium House, Inc., a 34-unit, multi-housing community in Royersford, PA.
In 1998, Marie established the Richard W. Wetherill Foundation – a private foundation that actively contributed to local charities.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Andreas David Bothe, and their three children, David, Annemarie and Richard. Marie is survived by her granddaughter, Heather Lone, and greatgrandson, Jason, of Cleveland, TN.
She will be missed by family, friends, and associates.
