Uline continues to grow — seeks 90 employees

Additional staff needed for warehouse, customer service in Allentown

Uline — a distributo­r of shipping, industrial and packaging materials — has announced that “unpreceden­ted market growth” has resulted in the need to hire an additional 90 warehouse and customer service employees at its Allentown facility by year’s end.

The company started 2021 with a need to fill 200 warehouse and customer service positions at its Allentown location. That need has been met, with 195 open positions filled since February.

During the pandemic, Pennsylvan­ia businesses relied on the products Uline sells. According to the company, as businesses continue to return to a “post-pandemic normalcy,” increased demand for Uline’s products continues.

“With the continued growth Uline has seen over the last year, our need for quality talent continues to grow,” Tim McDonough, Uline’s Allentown branch manager, said in a press release. “At the start of this year, we had an ambitious goal of filling 200 employees at the Allentown facility. While we’ve been tremendous­ly successful at meeting our hiring goal, our growth continues to skyrocket, and we’re looking for an additional 90 new team members to join our team.”

To help fill the openings in Allentown, the company is hosting two hiring events.

The first event is a warehouse hiring event on Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 3 to 6 p.m. at 700 Uline Way in Allentown. A variety positions in the warehouse are available, including: warehouse associate — shipping; warehouse associate — receiving; warehouse lead — night shift. Hourly rates hourly rates start at $23 per hour. Various shifts are also available that include a $2 differenti­al. Candidates must pre-register online to secure an interview slot prior to attending the hiring event.

The second event is a customer service hiring event on Tuesday, Oct. 12 from 3-6 p.m. at 700 Uline Way in Allentown. The company is seeking customer service representa­tives for both English and bilingual Spanish roles. Various shift options are available that include a $2 differenti­al, and hourly rates start at $17-$25 per hour. Candidates must pre-register online to secure an interview slot prior to attending the hiring event.

All of the positions are eligible for a $2,000 bonus to those employees that start by Nov. 1.

In 2020, Uline also filled nearly 200 positions at its Allentown facility. Nationwide, the company has hired more than 1,800 employees of the projected 2,000 needed to fill positions across North America this year to meet same-day shipping guarantees.
