Lola Mae Berriker
Lola Mae Berriker, 96, lifelong resident of Douglassville, PA, passed away on January 1, 2022, at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Pottstown, PA. Born in Douglassville, PA, on November 1, 1925, Lola Mae was the second daughter of the late Ralph and Helen (Hunsinger) Berriker.
Lola Mae was born in the Berriker family home on Schuylkill Road in Douglassville, PA. She was blessed to live in this home until March of 2020. Lola Mae
graduated from Pottstown High School in 1943, and shortly thereafter worked for Vaugh Knitting Mill and Neapco, both of Pottstown, PA. In 1959, Lola Mae began working as a clerk for Bell Telephone, until her retirement in 1985. Outside of work, Lola Mae enjoyed traveling, gardening and working in the back acreage of her property along the canal. She also enjoyed family visits with her siblings and their children and participating in church services and activities at Temple United Methodist Church.
Lola Mae is lovingly remembered by her nieces, Karen Passiak, Andrea McGuire, Linda Grant, Brenda Smith, and Robin Berriker; her nephew, Dennis Collins; and five grandnieces and two grandnephews. She is also fondly remembered by her cousins and church family.
In addition to her parents, Lola Mae was predeceased by her siblings, William Berriker, Rodney Berriker, and Louise Collins.
Visitation will take place on Friday, January 7, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Temple United Methodist Church, 1390 Unionville Road, Pottstown, PA 19465. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place after the service in the church cemetery. The family respectfully requests that all guests wear a mask during the visitation and service.
