Helen Lenore (McDonnell) Slack, 81, of East Greenville, PA, passed away with family by her side on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital - Upper Bucks Campus in Milford Twp., PA. She was the beloved wife of 40 years to the late John Slack, Jr. who died in 2000.

Born in Skippack, PA, she was a daughter of the late Lorne and Josephine (Stauffer) McDonnell.

She was employed as a personal lines underwrite­r at Harleysvil­le Insurance for many years. She also worked as a dairy farmer alongside her husband for many years in various states.

Mrs. Slack was a longtime, active member of Community Bible Fellowship Church in Red Hill. She was also a member of the Indian Valley Dulcimer Society. A beloved sister and mother, she was a devoted and very involved grandmothe­r and great grandmothe­r. She loved taking care of and spending time with her family.

She is survived by four sons: Robert Slack and his wife Laurie of Fleetwood, Lorne Slack and his wife Susan of East Greenville, John Slack III and his wife Nancy of East Greenville, Lee Slack and his wife Tina of Pennsburg, a daughter-in-law, Debbie Slack of Barto, 18 grandchild­ren and 14 great grandchild­ren, two brothers: William McDonnell and his wife Joan of Harleysvil­le, Francis “Frank” McDonnell and his wife Janet of East Greenville, two sisters: Doris Stahl of Perry County, and Nancy Waddell of Coopersbur­g. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James Slack, and a brother, John “Jack” McDonnell.

Family will receive close friends and family on Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 2:00-3:00 PM at the Community Bible Fellowship Church, 426 Main St., Red Hill, PA. Graveside Services will follow at 3:30 PM in the Skippack Church of the Brethren Cemetery, 520 Collegevil­le Rd., Collegevil­le, PA 19426. A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date. Memorial contributi­ons may be made in her memory to Community Bible Fellowship Church, P O Box 281, Red Hill, PA 18076.
