Possible bridge projects in Tri-County region
Friday, state and federal officials touted $1.6 billion in bridge funding Pennsylvania will receive under the infrastructure bill passed by Congress in November.
No funding has been assigned to specific projects yet, but what follows is a small portion of the list of existing PennDOT projects in the greater Pottstown/ Tri-County area which could be candidates for the funding.
Berks County
• Weavertown Road bridge: Replacement — $3,595,735
• State Route 562 bridge over Monocacy Creek: Replace or rehabilitate — $10,000
• Gibraltar Road bridge: Rehabilitation — $1,730,000
• Manatawny Road over Manatawny Creek: Preservation — $25,705
• State Route 100 bridge over tributary of Perkiomen Creek: Rehabilitation — $29,335
• State Route 422, Ben Franklin congested corridor: Signal improvement — $3,836,580
• Huffs Church Road bridge over Perkiomen Creek: Rehabilitation — $37,516
Chester County
• U.S.422 bridges over Hanover Street and PA Route 100 in North Coventry: Reconstruction — $84,093,000
• Birchrun Road bridge over Birch Run in West Vincent: Replacement $1,277,000
• Conestoga Road (Route 401) bridge over Pickering Creek in Chester Springs: Replacement $1,857,000
Montgomery County
• State Route 23 and U.S. Route 422 Interchange in King of Prussia: Interchange Improvement — $14,785,000
• New Hanover Square Road bridge Swamp Creek in New Hanover: Replacement — $3,228,000
• US Route 422 bridge over Norfolk Southern tracks at Evergreen Road in Limerick: Reconstruct — $77,568,000
• North Charlotte Street (PA Route 663) bridge over a tributary of Minister Creek in New Hanover: Deck replacement — $2,887,000
• Congo Road bridge over Middle Creek in Gilbertsville: Replacement — $1,448,734
