Paul “Chris” R. Chrisman, 70, of Royersford, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 16, 2022, after a hard-fought six-year battle with cancer. He was born on March 29, 1952, in Phoenixvil­le, and was the son of Paul A. Chrisman and the late Dorothy (Edwards) Chrisman. Chris was the loving husband of Mary E. (Saile) Chrisman, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.

Chris was a graduate of Phoenixvil­le Area High School, Class of 1970.

Chris’ love of cars began with racing Quarter Midgets with the Montgomery County Quarter

Midget Club in Phoenixvil­le at the age of 5. Having outgrown quarter midgets at the age of 12, Chris continued his love of racing in 1973, purchasing and driving his own full size midget with ARDC (American Racing Drivers Club) until 1986.

He began working with his father at the age of 13 at New Street Auto Service in Spring City, eventually becoming a partner in the business. The garage was

like a second home for Chris, as he spent most of his time there until his retirement in 2020. He was also a member and past president of AASP-PA (Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Pennsylvan­ia).

When he wasn’t working at the garage Chris loved to get involved in local politics. He served as a Royersford Borough Council member as well as on the Royersford Planning Commission. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing with close friends in Myrtle Beach. He was an avid sports fan and looked forward to attending Spring-Ford football games as a season ticket holder for over 30 years.

He is survived by his wife; Mary E. (Saile) Chrisman, of Royersford, daughters; Deborah A. Chrisman, of Royersford, Jennifer M. Schoenly, wife of Jared, of East Vincent, grandchild­ren; Katelyn E. and Evan C. Schoenly, and his best buddy; Olive. He is also survived by his father; Paul A. Chrisman, of East Vincent, nieces; Heather Kirby, Jillian Kemmerlin, wife of Prince, and great-nephews; Luka and Caden Kemmerlin. Chris was preceded in death by his mother; Dotty (Edwards) Chrisman, and sister; Cindy Jo Kirby.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a visitation on Friday May 27, 2022, at the Cattermole­Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Visitation will resume the next day, May 28, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3640 Schuylkill Road, Spring City from 9:30am-10:45am. A funeral Mass will begin at 11:00am. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chris’ name to Stretch the Ride Foundation – Pottstown: 1611 Medical Drive Pottstown, PA 19464. Arrangemen­ts are being handled by the Cattermole Klotzbach Funeral Home.
