Dr. Marvin H. Kromash (Marv) passed away in Florida on February 6, 2023. Marv lived a life of tireless work and service to the communities in which he lived. At the time of his death, he was 83 years old.

A Philadelphia native, Marv was a proud graduate of Central High School, Temple University, and Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital. Over a medical career spanning 45 years based in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Marv offered pediatric care to many thousands of children spanning multiple generations. To patients and parents alike, Marv was a gentle and kind-hearted soul. He practiced medicine compassionately and with dedication to his craft, and as a result he was a revered figure throughout Pottstown and the surrounding communities.

Prior to his medical career in Pottstown, Marv honorably served his country from 1965-70 as a physician in the U.S. Army. During five years of military service, he often treated wounded soldiers flown straight from Vietnam. As an Army doctor, Marv was stationed across the country—in Tacoma, WA; El Paso, TX; and Fort Dix, NJ—and finished his military service at the rank of major.

Marv had a lifelong passion for the saxophone, a hobby he was able to indulge with regularity during his later years, both from the warmth of his home in Florida as well as his house near the beaches of Delaware. Over his life, he and his loving wife Lori were the caring owners and breeders of Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers. Marv was also a lover of Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Phillies and the Eagles. He had been looking forward to watching the Eagles compete in another Super Bowl.

Marv is survived by his wife (Lori), a younger brother (Stan), seven children (Stephanie, Aaron, Neil, Russell, Kevin, Nicole, Brooke), and eight grandchildren (Gabriel, Julia, Kyle, Maddox, Cobi, Laila, Kieran, Adrian). An older brother (Joe) preceded him in death.

A celebration of Marv’s life for family and friends will be held in Delaware at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: K9s for Warriors (www.k9sforwarriors.org) or Fisher House Foundation (www.fisherhouse.org).

Marv will be greatly missed by all.
