Margaret J. “Peggy” (Bauer) Copenhaver, age 94, wife of the late William C. Copenhaver of Spring City, PA, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 in the Columbia Cottage, Collegevil­le, PA. Born on December 27, 1928 in Pottstown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Decker) Bauer.

Mrs. Copenhaver was a faithful and active member of Brownback’s United Church of Christ, where she volunteere­d on the kitchen and caring committees, assisted with the Christmas bazaar, and taught Sunday school and assisted in the nursery. She was a dedicated wife and mother, focusing much of her attention on her home and family. She did work for some time alongside her husband at their company, Royal Men’s Wear in Royersford, and she worked the annual OJR census, oftentimes going door-todoor. She enjoyed canning, cooking, and baking, and she looked forward each year to the annual family vacation to the Outer Banks.

Mrs. Copenhaver is survived by four children, Barry L. (Cherie) Copenhaver, Shirley K. (the late Allen) Byrd, Arlen B. (Lynne) Copenhaver, and Brian S. (Dina) Copenhaver; six grandchild­ren; thirteen great-grandchild­ren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel Bauer and Irvin Bauer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Brownback’s United Church of Christ, 640 Ridge Road, Spring City, PA on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11:00 am. Officiatin­g will be Rev. William Wisneski. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. Friends will be received from 9:30 am 10:45 am at the Church on Monday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made in her name to the Brownback’s UCC at the address above.
