PD: Waterbury woman crashed into car, walked away

- By Press Staff

MIDDLETOWN >> A 39-yearold Waterbury woman was arrested after police say she hit another car in the parking lot at Marshals, then walked away from the scene.

Robin Latino was charged Aug. 24 with evading responsibility and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

The victim told police she was parked in the Marshal’s lot on East Main Street when she heard a crunch, looked behind her and saw a black Mazda pull through two parking spaces. A woman with a shaved head got out of her car, looked at the damage and then walked into the store, police said.

When police found the woman and brought her outside, she denied hitting the other car, according to the report. There was visible damage to both vehicles, which included scratch mark and paint transfer, police said. Latino told police the damage on her car was from a prior accident, police said.

After viewing the damage and talking with witnesses, police determined Latino had caused the accident and she was issued a misdemeanor summons for the charges.

She was issued a court date for Sept. 7.

Judicial records show Latino also has pending cases out of Waterbury for motor vehicle charges, breach of peace and protective order violations.
