Hale Ray volleyball sweeps East Haven
Girls volleyball
HALE RAY 3, EAST HAVEN 0 >> Senior outside hitter Sage Connors collected 11 kills, six digs, and three blocks, while senior setter Mary Pease dished out 15 assists to lift the Noises to a 25-12, 25-13 and 25-15 non-league victory Wednesday at East Haven.
Callie Burke had seven kills and two blocks, and Aidan Fiala served seven aces for Hale Ray (17-3, 16-2 SLC).
Freshman Belle Ragaini had 10 assists and Sam Miranda added four kills for the Yellowjackets (8-12).
Boys soccer
MORGAN 2, HADDAM-KILLINGWORTH >> At Higganum, the Huskies edged the host Cougars on a pair of late goals from Pat Markovics and Juan Avila. James Saturno had the assist on Avila’s game-winning score, while Anes Gadun finished with three saves for Morgan (11-4-1).
Ben McLaughlin had a goal and Jack Spooner stopped four shots for H-K (7-6-1).
Girls soccer
VALLEY REGIONAL 3, COGINCHAUG 0 >> At Durham, senior Sidney Lee notched two goals and Malena Frazier added a goal and an assist to lift the visiting Warriors (7-6-3) on Wednesday.
Amanda Paul made seven saves for the Blue Devils (210-2).
Field hockey
MERCY 3, SHEEHAN 1 >> At Wallingford, Christiana Bevilacqua and Kendall Castro each had a goal and an assist, while Jessica Gaetgans made 12 saves to lift the visiting Tigers on Tuesday. Meg McClellan added a second half goal for Mercy (5-9).
Allyn Petrillo scored for the Titans (5-7-2-1). VALLEY REGIONAL 5, STAFFORD 0 >> Senior Francesca Daniels scored three goals and dished out two assists to lead the Warriors to a non-league win Tuesday at Stafford. Emily Peterson and Laura Quinn each had a goal, while Mia Cost recorded nine saves for Valley (7-6-1).
The Bulldogs fell to 3-6-1.
Men’s soccer
CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 1, WESLEYAN 0 >> At Middletown, Chris Lockwood netted the game-winning goal in the 56th minute to lift the Camels on Wednesday at Jackson Field. Mark Cameron made three saves for Conn. College (10-4-1, 5-4-1 NESCAC).
Charlie Gruner and Adam Cowie-Haskell had game-tying scoring bids late in the second half for the Cardinals. Gruner hit the crossbar with a shot and Cowie-Haskell, who netted a team-high eight goals, had back-to-back headers inside the box that went just above the crossbar.
Wesleyan finishes 5-91, 2-8-0 NESCAC.
College field hockey
CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 4, WESLEYAN 3 >> At Middletown, Sam Segiet scored the game-wining goal at 61:34 to lead the Camels on Wednesday night at Smith Field. Cheyanne Asplundh, Bryn MacGillivray, and Amanda Jacobsen also netted goals for Conn. College (4-11, 3-7 NESCAC).
Cici Frattasio, Maddie Shea, and Erica Horowitz each had game-tying goals for the Cardinals, who finish 2-13, 0-10 NESCAC.
