Songwriting, music topics of workshop
FARMINGTON >> The Connecticut Songwriters Association, now in its 38th year, presents an educational workshop for anyone interested in songwriting and the music business, on Sunday, Jan. 11, 12-5 p.m. at Amistad Hall, First Church Congregational, 75 Main St., Farmington.
CSA presents a Master Class Workshop and feedback session on the Craft and Business of Songwriting, conducted by Grammy Winning songwriter Bill Pere.
Pere is a former Connecticut State Troubadour and was named 2003 Independent Artist of the Year by the Philadelphia Indie Music Conference.
He was named one of the Top 50 Innovators and Guiding Lights of the Music Business by Music Connection Magazine, and the New York Times calls him “the link between music and science.”
Pere is the author of the industry-standard reference “Songcrafters’ Coloring Book.” In-depth constructive feedback of attendees songs will be provided.
The workshop is for anyone interested in a better understanding and mastery of the craft and business of writing, performing, or recording original music.
The event is open to the public. The $25 registration fee helps support CSA’s nonprofit community educational outreach programs. The Connecticut Songwriters Association is a nonprofit educational organization, founded in 1979. The organization has grown to be one of the largest and most active songwriter associations in the U.S., presenting regular educational workshops with industry professionals, and community outreach concert events across the state to benefit social service programs.
