FARMINGTON >> The Connecticu­t Songwriter­s Associatio­n, now in its 38th year, presents an educationa­l workshop for anyone interested in songwritin­g and the music business, on Sunday, Jan. 11, 12-5 p.m. at Amistad Hall, First Church Congregati­onal, 75 Main St., Farmington.

CSA presents a Master Class Workshop and feedback session on the Craft and Business of Songwritin­g, conducted by Grammy Winning songwriter Bill Pere.

Pere is a former Connecticu­t State Troubadour and was named 2003 Independen­t Artist of the Year by the Philadelph­ia Indie Music Conference.

He was named one of the Top 50 Innovators and Guiding Lights of the Music Business by Music Connection Magazine, and the New York Times calls him “the link between music and science.”

Pere is the author of the industry-standard reference “Songcrafte­rs’ Coloring Book.” In-depth constructi­ve feedback of attendees songs will be provided.

The workshop is for anyone interested in a better understand­ing and mastery of the craft and business of writing, performing, or recording original music.

The event is open to the public. The $25 registrati­on fee helps support CSA’s nonprofit community educationa­l outreach programs.
