SHACKETT, LAWRENCE F.

Lawrence F. Shackett, 72 of Higganum, beloved husband of the late Amelia “Mimi” (Zigrino) Shackett, passed away peacefully Friday, January 13th surrounded by his family at Middlesex Hospital. Lawrence was born in Middletown, son of the late Adrian and Alice (Guthrie) Shackett. After graduating from Vinal Technical High School he served honorably in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. Lawrence devoted his life to his family and his businesses as the owner of Family Car Wash of Groton & Norwich. Lawrence is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey and Allison Shackett of Higganum, and Christopher J. Shackett of Massachusetts and three granddaughters, Amelia Grace, Liane Mary and Nora Lynn; sister Diann Hodgetts and her husband Steven, brother Ronald Choquette and his wife Madeline; Sister-in-Law Doreen Conroy and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Joanne Ingraham and brotherin-law Timothy Conroy, Sr. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 23rd at 10 a.m. from Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown, followed by an 11 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Peter Church, Higganum. Burial will be at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Middlefield.
