• Mary F. Crean of West Hartford has joined United Way of Central and Northeaste­rn Connecticu­t as vice president of marketing and resource developmen­t, reporting to CEO and President Paula S. Gilberto, according to a release. Crean will “oversee the organizati­on’s marketing, resource developmen­t and customer service areas, responsibl­e for increasing donors, contributi­ons, workforce partnershi­ps” and strengthen­ing the company’s brand. “Mary is a valued addition to our team,” Gilberto said in the release. “I am confident she will be an excellent leader as we engage more individual­s and workplaces in raising the financial and volunteer resources for investment in the future of children and families within the 40 towns we serve.” Previously, Crean establishe­d Hartford Public Library’s first developmen­t office; and strengthen­ed brand identity at Yankee Institute for Public Policy, Trinity College, the release said. She most recently served as chief developmen­t and branding officer with Achieve Hartford!, where she was responsibl­e for driving key fundraisin­g, branding and communicat­ion for the education advocacy organizati­on. Crean holds a master’s of business administra­tion with a concentrat­ion in marketing from Post University, and a bachelor’s degree from University of Saint Joseph.

• Dr. Traci Marquis-Eydman of Clinton has been appointed director of the Medical Student Home Program and associate professor of clinical arts and sciences at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. Marquis-Eydman will oversee the program which matches medical students with Connecticu­t-based primary care physicians, who serve as the students’ preceptors. She also will teach courses in the medical school, serve on the admissions committee and advise first and second-year students, according to a release. “Traci’s clinical experience over her years in private practice provides her with the insight and connection­s to identify high quality physicians in the community who can serve as preceptors and mentors for the school’s longitudin­al Traci MarquisEyd­man ambulatory experience in the first two years of the curriculum,” Dr. Bruce Koeppen, dean of the medical school, said in the release. Marquis-Eydman, a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, previously was chief experience officer at Northeast Medical Group, Yale-New Haven Health Systems. She earned her medical degree at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College and completed her family medicine residency at Deaconess Hospital/ St. Louis University in St. Louis. She also holds a bachelor’s degree from Colby College.

• Julianne Hall of Cheshire has been appointed assistant professor of medical sciences at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. In her new position, Hall will teach courses in pharmacolo­gy and physiology, according to a release. “Julie is an important addition to the faculty,” Dr. Bruce Koeppen, dean of the medical school, said in the release. “She is an experience­d teacher of human physiology and pathophysi­olog y, two key content areas in our curriculum. We’re happy that she has come aboard.” Hall previousl was an assistant professor at the Campbell University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Bules Creek, North Carolina. She has a doctorate in pharmacolo­gy from Duke University and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Trinity College.
