• Mary F. Crean of West Hartford has joined United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut as vice president of marketing and resource development, reporting to CEO and President Paula S. Gilberto, according to a release. Crean will “oversee the organization’s marketing, resource development and customer service areas, responsible for increasing donors, contributions, workforce partnerships” and strengthening the company’s brand. “Mary is a valued addition to our team,” Gilberto said in the release. “I am confident she will be an excellent leader as we engage more individuals and workplaces in raising the financial and volunteer resources for investment in the future of children and families within the 40 towns we serve.” Previously, Crean established Hartford Public Library’s first development office; and strengthened brand identity at Yankee Institute for Public Policy, Trinity College, the release said. She most recently served as chief development and branding officer with Achieve Hartford!, where she was responsible for driving key fundraising, branding and communication for the education advocacy organization. Crean holds a master’s of business administration with a concentration in marketing from Post University, and a bachelor’s degree from University of Saint Joseph.
• Dr. Traci Marquis-Eydman of Clinton has been appointed director of the Medical Student Home Program and associate professor of clinical arts and sciences at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. Marquis-Eydman will oversee the program which matches medical students with Connecticut-based primary care physicians, who serve as the students’ preceptors. She also will teach courses in the medical school, serve on the admissions committee and advise first and second-year students, according to a release. “Traci’s clinical experience over her years in private practice provides her with the insight and connections to identify high quality physicians in the community who can serve as preceptors and mentors for the school’s longitudinal Traci MarquisEydman ambulatory experience in the first two years of the curriculum,” Dr. Bruce Koeppen, dean of the medical school, said in the release. Marquis-Eydman, a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, previously was chief experience officer at Northeast Medical Group, Yale-New Haven Health Systems. She earned her medical degree at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College and completed her family medicine residency at Deaconess Hospital/ St. Louis University in St. Louis. She also holds a bachelor’s degree from Colby College.
• Julianne Hall of Cheshire has been appointed assistant professor of medical sciences at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. In her new position, Hall will teach courses in pharmacology and physiology, according to a release. “Julie is an important addition to the faculty,” Dr. Bruce Koeppen, dean of the medical school, said in the release. “She is an experienced teacher of human physiology and pathophysiolog y, two key content areas in our curriculum. We’re happy that she has come aboard.” Hall previousl was an assistant professor at the Campbell University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Bules Creek, North Carolina. She has a doctorate in pharmacology from Duke University and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Trinity College.
