Gillette Castle’s theater company to hold auditions
EAST HADDAM >> The East Haddam Stage Company, (EHSCO.org) East Haddam CT, resident theatre company of Gillette Castle State Park announces non-union professional actor auditions for their 2017 productions.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, Feb. 19, 1 to 4 p.m. at Gillette Castle State Park Visitors Center, 67 River Road, East Haddam, CT.

Prepare one short monologue of your choice, comedy or drama. There will also be readings from the scripts. Stipend paid for all productions. Bring picture and resume with you.

Characters: William Gillette: Senator’s Son to Super Sleuth.
Rehearsals begin June 7, and are held Monday through Friday, afternoon/ evening at Gillette Castle State Park. Season runs from July 8-August 13th, Saturdays and Sundays only, with two 30-minute shows per day. Thet ime commitment is 12-4 p.m.
Available Role:
1 Male, age range 30-55 to play William Gillette/Sherlock Holmes in an original 30-minute comedy/drama in trunk show format. Looking for actors who are comfortable with acting outdoors, engaging with the audience, and projection of character. Must be 5’9” or taller. British accent a must.
Sherlock Holmes and the Adventure of the Speckled Band, a 1930 radio show (6 week tour), begins rehearsals Aug. 18.
Rehearsals begin August 18th. Shows are evenings and weekends from Sept. 8-Oct. 15. The tour goes to various locations, throughout New England.
Available roles:
Male 1: Sherlock Holmes age range 30-60, British accent a must
Male 2: Dr. Watson age range 30-60, British accent a must
Male 3: Any age, plays Announcer, does sound effects, Billy the page, Dr. Roylott cockney and British or Scottish accents a plus.
