BIRTH OF A GARGOYLE
Work on this year’s snow sculpture by Will, Karen and Washington Malave at their 272 Fowler Ave. home began after the Feb. 9 storm. “We finally finished Ivan the gargoyle on Sunday before all the warm weather melted away all our work,” said Karen Malave. Ivan, who stands 7 feet tall and 8 feet wide, was “born” after at least 10 hours of work. “Last year, due to lack of snow, we weren’t able to create anything. So we were happy to get one in this year,” Malave said. “We are already planning on what we will build next year!”
