The Eagles are the top seed in the Class LL tournament. 2. Capital Prep (5) (18-5) 364 2 L Bottom Line: The Trailblaze­rs breezed to their 10th consecutiv­e CSC tournament title, beating Bassick 71-21 and Kaynor Tech 7929. Seeded No. 4 in Class L, they play host to Foran in Monday’s first round. 3. New London (21-2) 342 3 LL Bottom Line: The Whalers avenged a previous week’s loss to NFA by topping the Wildcats 53-39 to win the ECC Division I title. The third seed in Class LL plays host to Wilton in Tuesday’s first round. 4. Enfield (1) (23-1) 310 4 LL Bottom Line: Danielle Delano scored 23 points and Mary Baskervill­e 20 as Enfield easily won the CCC title, 71-43 over Middletown, in its inaugural season. 5. Mercy (20-3) 306 5 LL Bottom Line: Samantha Chapps scored 14 points and was tournament MVP as the Tigers reclaimed the SCC championsh­ip, 49-39 over Hand. They’re the No. 5 seed in the Class LL tournament. 6. Hand (19-4) 236 6 L Bottom Line: Hand’s reign as SCC champions came to a close vs. Mercy in this year’s final, 49-39. They’re hoping to challenge Capital Prep as the No. 2 seed in the Class L tournament. 7. Norwich Free Academy (18-5) 197 7 LL Bottom Line: The Wildcats couldn’t pull off a second upset vs. New London in the ECC Division I final, but are no doubt a dangerous No. 8 seed in the Class LL tournament. They play host to Shelton in the first round. 8. Stamford (18-5) 159 NR LL Bottom Line: Despite losing a halftime lead and the FCIAC championsh­ip to No. 1 Trumbull, the defending Class LL champions are getting hot at the right time. They’ve won 10 of their last 11 games heading into the tournament as the 11th seed. 9. Middletown (21-3) 143 10 LL Bottom Line: The Dragons made an impressive run at the CCC Championsh­ip but lost to Enfield, 71-43, in the final. They’re seeded fourth in the Class LL tournament and play Manchester in the first round. 10. Bethel (20-3) 137 NR M Bottom Line: Lily Daniels was the Most Outstandin­g Player as Bethel won its first SWC title, 44-37 over New Fairfield. They’re the No. 5 seed in a competitiv­e Class M tournament.
