The Middletown Press (Middletown, CT)
Low Vision Center raffle
The mission of the Lions Low Vision Center of Eastern Connecticut (LLVC) is to provide appropriate low vision devices and help to people with decreased vision, therefore empowering them to improve their quality of life or maintain their independence through awareness, resources, and solutions.
To continue to provide this service free of charge to the people of Eastern Connecticut, LLVC will sponsor its second annual Raffle for Sight.
The four prizes are: 55” Samsung 4K UHDTV with Sound bar and Subwoofer, an Apple IPAD PRO, a 28” Samsung HDTV with an X-BOX-1 console and Minecraft game, and a $100 gift certificate to Game Stop.
Tickets are $10 each and are available by calling Lee Anderson at 860-942-2527 or Howard Wiley at 860-267-1535. Credit cards will be accepted. The drawing will be held on Aug. 1. You need not be present to win.
LLVC is dedicated to the enhancement of the quality of lives of citizens in our service area who suffer from low vision — not having enough vision to do whatever it is you need to do — which can vary from person to person.
Most eye care professionals prefer to use the term “low vision” to describe permanently reduced vision that cannot be corrected with regular glasses, contact lenses, medicine, or surgery.
If someone has been diagnosed with Low Vision by an Eye Care Professional they can call 860-377-2063 to setup an appointment. The LLVC Low Vision Technician will visit them and determine what measures and aids will assist them to function more effectively with their disability. These services and devices are provided free of charge by LLVC.
