Rhyme & Reason exhibition features Connecticut artists
HARTFORD >> A new art exhibition, Rhyme & Reason, features artwork by six Connecticut artists awarded the Connecticut Office of the Arts’ highly-competitive Artist Fellowship. These artists were selected in 2015 based on the excellence of their work: Andrew Buck (Farmington) – photography, Insook Hwang (New Haven) – mixed media/2D installation, Karla Knight (Redding) – work on paper, Kerri Quirk (Willimantic) – painting, Alyse Rosner (Wesport) – painting, and Chip Rutan (Old Saybrook) – photography. The Artist Fellowship grants provided an opportunity for them to continue their artistic development and to create new work. Rhyme & Reason features the fruits of their labor.
Rhyme & Reason runs from April 6 to July 7, with an opening reception on Thursday, April 6, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. In addition to this exhibit, artwork from the Connecticut Artists Collection will also be on display, including pieces by Peter Waite, Ed Johnetta Miller, and Robert Cottingham.
