‘Life Can Be a Dream’ celebrates music of the ’50s and ’60s
BERLIN >> The Connecticut Cabaret Theatre presents “Life Could Be A Dream: A ’50s-’60s Jukebox Musical” by Rodger Bean. The musical celebration opens Friday night, with performances running weekends through May 6 (no performances Easter weekend, April 14-15).
The musical is directed by Kris McMurray, with musical direction by Nathaniel Baker.
The cast includes Kaite Corda, Jon Escobar, Jayson Beaulieu, Rick Bennett and Jordan Duvall.
Sh-Boom as the boys of the Crooning Crabcakes prepare to enter the Big Whopper Radio contest and realize their dreams of making it to the big time.
Trouble comes in the form of Lois, who arrives to put some polish on the boys.
Denny and Wally fall in love, Eugene falls apart, and along comes handsome heartthrob Skip.
The doo-wop songs say it all: “Fools Fall in Love,” “Earth Angel,” “Runaround Sue,” “Stay,” “The Wanderer,” and many more.
