SERC library to close temporarily
MIDDLETOWN >> The State Education Resource Center Library in Middletown will temporarily close later this spring while it prepares for a possible move.
The library, at 25 Industrial Park Road, will remain open through May 26. The State Education Resource Center, which operates the library, will announce any potential relocation and a reopening date when details become available, according to a press release.
The temporary closure would not affect virtual access to the library’s electronic journal databases and other online resources, the release continues.
Since 1969, the library has served Connecticut as a unique combination of public library, specialized library and academic library. It has helped tens of thousands of general and special educators, educators in training and families of children with special needs through its relevant, timely and high-quality resources in the field of education and related services, the website details. Circulation schedule: • Reserves on resources already out on loan are suspended.
• Renewals will suspend as of April 25.
• Borrowing will suspend as of May 5.
• The facility will close to visitors at closing time on May 26.
Updates will be posted on the library’s website, blog and Facebook page at SERC Library, as well as social media and web pages, which are accessible through ctserc.org.
