‘Heartbreak in Peanuts’ opens May 21
WATERBURY >> The beloved characters from the Peanuts comic strip are coming to the Mattatuck Museum in the exhibition “Heartbreak in Peanuts,” open from May 20 through Aug. 13.
An opening reception is set for 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at the museum.
Experience the joys and sorrows of unrequited love, Peanuts-style, in this traveling exhibition. Love is everywhere in Peanuts — Charlie Brown loves the Little Red-Haired Girl, Lucy adores Schroeder, Sally pursues Linus — but sadly, these sentiments are rarely returned. Join the Peanuts characters
as they continually return to their hopeless quests for love, undaunted by defeat.
“Heartbreak in Peanuts” is organized and toured by the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center, Santa Rosa, California. It is supported locally by MacDermid Performance Solutions and media sponsor the Republican-American.
Located in the heart of downtown Waterbury’s architectural district, the Mattatuck Museum is a vibrant destination, known locally and regionally as a community-centered institution of American art and history. For more information on all of the Museum’s programs, events, and exhibits visit the website at mattmuseum.org or call 203-753-0381.
