MIDDLETOWN >> Connecticut-based band Auburn Row, a rock quartet, is ready to drop some newly recorded material for the first time since their debut album release in 2015.

The band’s new EP, “A World Divided,” showcases the development of the band’s sound over the past five years.

Though the material on the new EP isn’t necessarily “new,” it features fresh takes on six of the band’s most popular songs.

Guitarist Mike Racine said, “We originally recorded these songs back in 2012 when we had only been playing together for a few months.

“As we’ve grown as a band and as individual musicians, so have these songs. We wanted to make sure that was captured on this EP.”

“A World Divided” is also the first Auburn Row release to feature guitarist Jerrod Ravid.

“It feels like a milestone for us,” said vocalist and keyboard player Alex Cross. “I’m not a parent, so this may seem like a farfetched analogy, but it’s almost like watching your kids grow up. Some of these songs were written as early as 2008- when I had just started writing my own material. Creating versions of these songs almost a decade later that have surpassed the original vision for them has been one of the highlights of my musical career.”

The new EP was recorded, mixed and mastered by Zac Koval at Lunara Studios in Salem, Connecticut.

“Having a trained set of ears and skills really brought a new life to these songs that we never thought was possible,” said drummer Andrew Moore. “With ZTK behind production at Lunara Studios, I’m confident that these songs are finally ready for a broader audience.”

Auburn Row plans to kick off an Eastern United States tour in support of the new EP on July 24. Specific details for the tour will be announced in the near future.

“A World Divided” will be released across all digital outlets in late July. Until then, you can stream Auburn Row’s new single, “I’m Not Like You,” at the link below.
