Cromwell alumni reunion planned for June

-

CROMWELL >> Did you attend, teach or work at a Cromwell school? The Cromwell alumni committee has announced plans for a reunion on June 17, 2017. The reunion is a great opportunity to meet your classmates as well as teachers and other friends from your days in the Cromwell school system. People whose families left town before graduation are equally invited, as well as classmates who went to Mercy, Xavier or Vinal.

This is the fourth time the committee has hosted these reunions. In 2006 twenty five classes met at a resort in Moodus, in 2009 thirty classes celebrated the 50th anniversary of the first graduating class from CHS at a memorable event held at Watrous park here in Cromwell. In 2013 thirty-plus classes met again on a beautiful day at Watrous park. In the past many classes with a significant milestone piggyback off the main event to celebrate their own reunion.

This year the reunion will meet at Pierson park (known to many of the early classes as Community Field). The committee has reserved the pavilion near the football field and will have a large tent with tables. Food will be provided by Taíno’s Smokehouse. Admission will be $45 which covers the cost of food and other items such as the tent, insurance, and fees. There is also a “no meal” option for $20.

The committee is seeking class representatives to contact their classmates. The classes from the late 80’s and 90’s are passing their 25 year mark and it’s hoped more of them will come. A class representative helps ensure that. They also need volunteers to help set up tables beforehand, and to lend a hand cleaning up after.
