Thanks to all who made Light Up the Harbor a success
It was a wonderful evening at our annual Light Up the Harbor event June 3 at the Milford Yacht Club. The revenues raised will go directly to providing services to those who are experiencing homelessness and to those who are food insecure in the greater Milford area.
The success of this event would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors:
The Meisenheimer Foundation, The Milford Bank, The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, Somerset Capital LLC, Keep Me Home Care and Companions Ltd., The Orange Times, Prindle Hill Construction LLC, John and Barbara Streicker, Monique Osborn, Thom and Shelley Bach, Marilyn Cormack, Susan Lapine and Don Mroz, Michael and Suzanne Lyngaas, and Al and Marilyn May. We are so grateful for your partnerships.
Our appreciation to Tim Lammers, News Anchor for Fox CT, for agreeing, once again, to be our emcee. Our gratitude to our auctioneer extraordinaire, Ed Davies, who also serves as our board president, for managing to elicit the most generous bids on our live auction items from our guests.
Special thanks toattorney Matthew Woods, trustee of the Norma F. Pfriem Foundation, for the extraordinary donation of a $25,000 grant to be used for those individuals and families who are transitioning from the shelter to permanent housing — a most thoughtful gift that will make a huge difference in the lives of those who leave our shelter for independent living.
The amazing group of volunteers who served on the event committee this year, without whose help in soliciting and organizing auction items, arranging the beautiful décor, handling check-in and check-out with efficiency, and working as a team, provided the support and assistance necessary for the most successful event we have ever had. Thank you all.
Finally, we are thankful for all of you who attended the event and who supported us with your kindness and bigheartedness; your generosity will enable us to further our mission and to continue to provide services to those who are in need in our community. — Toni Dolan Executive director, Beth-El Center Inc.
