UberEats begins McDonald’s partnership
Official says cconsumers told restaurant owners that “that they enjoy experiencing McDonald’s in new ways.”
Getting your food to go at some Connecticut McDonald’s restaurants is taking on a new meaning as 53 of the chain’s fast food location are now partnering with the UberEats delivery service.
Terms of the deal weren’t released, including whether any money was changing hands between the two partners as a result of the deal. Eleven of the McDonald’s locations participating in the partnership with UberEats are in the New Haven area: Branford, Derby, East Haven, Hamden, Milford, New Haven, North Haven, North Branford, Orange, Seymour and West Haven.
Scott Taylor, president of the Connecticut and Western Massachusetts McDonald’s Owner/Operator Association, said the partnership is the result of customer feedback in which consumers told restaurant owners that “that they enjoy experiencing McDonald’s in new ways.”
The partnership with UberEats is being rolled out in multiple phases until all Connecticut McDonald’s restaurants offer the service, according to Adrianna Bigard, a spokeswoman for the chain’s regional owners’ group.
McDonald’s orders can be placed on the UberEats mobile app or website, using the same account used to take order rides. An UberEATS booking fee applies to each order.
Casey Verkemp, UberEATS Connecticut general manager, said those who use the delivery service frequently asked about delivery of McDonald’s food before the partnership was developed.
