Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center brings in Walter Trout on Friday. Trout has traveled the world wide playing his brand of guitar based blues rock. He is another player who spent years as a side man with John Mayall, the Bluesbreak­ers and Canned Heat. He has enjoyed playing his brand of fired-up, hardcore guitar heavy music and fans flock to his shows. Trout has been writing and recording his own songs for over 20 years as a solo artist. Health issues showed him down but he worked at it and is hitting the stage in a lot of places.

Also Friday, Diane Blue will lead a talented band featuring Neal Vitullo at the Tipping Chair Tavern. Blue a veteran performer is now the singer/harp player for legendary Ronnie Earl band. Vitullo is known around the region as the guitarist and band leader for the popular band Neal & the Vipers. Joining them is bassist Steve Bigelow and drummer Liviu Pop. This combinatio­n is going to provide something for everyone, vocals, harmonica, guitar. And Bigelow and Pop are a backline that knows how to step forward.

Saturday, the Knights Of Columbus in Newington is providing a Summer Blues Show at 6 p.m. This is an acoustic blues showcase featuring The Coffee Grinders Duo, Mary Lou Ferrante, Robin O’Herin, and Rocky Lawrence. They all have played at the K of C before and are returning for another show. Each act offers a different take on the blues. The show has another feature that goes back to the early acoustic days, no cover, the artists get the proceeds from passing the hat. The Knights of Columbus is located at the rear of 171 Pascone Place.

41 Bridge Street Live: Friday, Brother Joscephus and the Love Revolution; Collinsvil­le.

Join Brother Joscephus and the Love Revolution for a very special performanc­e at 41 Bridge Street Live on Friday. They are paying tribute to the 50th anniversar­y of the Beatles’ Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. BroJo will be playing the entire Sgt. Pepper’s album, as well as “peppering in” some of the original BroJo music that has been most influenced by the Beatles.

Since 2007, Brother Joscephus and the Love Revolution have been on a musical mission to make the world a more righteous place. The two main visionarie­s of this 10-piece explosion of love are Brother Joscephus, and his eccentric cohort, the Right Reverend Dean Dawg. The evening will dip heavily into a gumbo rich with the powerful rhythms of New Orleans, old school funk and soul, classic rock and a healthy dose of feel-good gospel music.

Amy Helm, the daughter of the late and great Levon Helm is at Infinity Music Hall Norfolk on Friday. She brings a lifetime of music heritage to the stage with her blues and soulful tones and a vocal range that ranks with the greats. It will be an uplifting experience in the intimate Infinity Hall setting in Norfolk.

Black-Eyed Sally’s is keeping busy with Comstock Station on Friday. The band is a three piece power band. They are lifelong musicians from the Hartford area. Get ready for a variety of high-octane, raw, guitar-driven classic rock & roll and blues, playing originals and covers, crafted by their unique style.

The Mighty Soul Drivers bring the classic Soul sounds of Memphis, Muscle Shoals and points South into Back-eyed Sally’s on Saturday. The Mighty Soul Drivers take their inspiratio­n from the giants of Southern Soul and turn every venue they play into a Soul dance party.

Liviu Pop has some talented friends. He will be playing every other Thursday with different special guests. Each visit will be memorable. Stop by and who he brings in next and enjoy a great night of music.

Saturday, the Maple Tree Café has The Tom Ferraro Band. This is a new combinatio­n of players. Guitarist Ferraro from Rhode Island has joined up with Ryan Hartt and Mike Law. A good night of music is in store.

Sonny’s Place has a Saturday Tribute to Gregg Allman. Featured are his son Michael Allman and Jeff Pitchell & Texas Flood.

With the good weather come stops at farmers’ markets and town greens.

Saturday, it is Sailfest 2017 in New London. Sue Menhart will be playing from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. on the Custom House Stage.

Dan Stevens is at the Lyme Farmers’ Market at 10 a.m. at Ashlawn Farm on Saturday. Then at 6 p.m., Stevens is joined by Smokin’ Opey at Priam Vineyard.

Sunday, EasyBaby plays at Crabby Joe’s on the deck. Also on Sunday, Stevens goes to Black Hall Outfitters to “Rock The Dock” at 6 pm. Sunday afternoon, Stevens journeys to the Olde Mistick Village Gazebo at 2 p.m.

Tuesday, Eran Troy Danner performs at the Oxford Summer Concert Series in Jackson Cove at 6:30 p.m. The Grill and Chill Summer Concert Series in Woodbridge on Wednesday will feature Jake Kulak & the LowDown at 5 p.m. On the Old Saybrook Green, Wednesday, it is the Kathy Thompson Band at 7 p.m. Thursday, the Kathy Thompson Band moves to the Southbury Green for a summer concert at 7 p.m.
