BROADWAY ON THE RIVER: Broadway on the River, an outdoor party and concert to benefit the Bingham Camp Theatre Retreat, will be held July 22 at Beside the Point, 65 Landing Road, Higganum. Tickets are $40 and $50 and include cocktails and a gourmet Mexican dinner at 5 p.m., a live auction, and concert at 6 p.m. featuring Andrea Burns, Ryan Duncan, Zonya Love Johnson, Orville Mendoza, Laiona Michelle and Maria-Christian Oliver, performing their Broadway hits. As the Resident Theatre Company at the park, EHSCO is performing their original 30-minute comedy-drama “William Gillette: Senator’s Son to Super Sleuth,” featuring William Matus of West Hartford and Nicole Morin of Haddam at Gillette Castle State Park, 67 River Rd., East Haddam. With generous sponsorship from Staehly Farm & Winery of East Haddam, and other area businesses, the shows are free to the public and are held Saturdays and Sundays at 1 and 2:30 p.m. through Aug. 13.
