SYRACUSE, NEW YORK » Emma Pellegrino, a junior biology major from East Hampton, has been named to the dean’s list at Le Moyne College for the spring 2017 semester. To make the list, students must achieve a 3.5 GPA or above.

HEMPSTEAD, NEW YORK » About 2,100 Hofstra University students earned their undergradu­ate, graduate or law degrees during commenceme­nt ceremonies on May 21 and 22. Kyle Miller of Old Saybrook took home a bachelor of science degree in mathematic­al business economics.

Thomas Warzecha of Middletown is pursuing a doctor of pharmacy. Dennis Beaudry of Middletown is pursuing a bachelor of science in premedical and health studies (physical therapy). AnnaRose Zampano of Portland is pursuing a bachelor of science in premedical and health studies (physician assistant studies).

The list recognizes those students with a fulltime course load who have achieved outstandin­g scholarshi­p with a 3.5 GPA or higher for the academic term.

ALAMOSA, COLORADO » Emily Galanto of East Hampton graduated from Adams State University during the spring 2017 commenceme­nt May 13. She earned a master of art degree in counseling: clinical mental health.

U.S. Air Force

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS » U.S. Air Force Airman Erick P. Maertz graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Maertz is the son of Daniel P. Maertz of Chambersbu­rg, Pennsylvan­ia; brother of Emily P. Maertz of Madison and grandson of Bruce P. and Nancy C. Maertz of Clinton.

He is a 2016 graduate of Morgan High School, Clinton.

Students who received the honor summa cum laude graduated with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.7. Students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.50; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.3.
